Inside 'Total Recall' with Colin Farrell and Kate Beckinsale
I'm not normally a fan of remakes but after having watched the 1990 Total Recall again, the idea of a new take on Philip K Dick's story doesn't seem like such a bad idea. In the 2012 version, Colin Farrell takes on the role handled by Arnold Schwarzenegger in the first film, playing a factory worker who visits Rekall to have his dream of being a super-spy injected as a real memory. Joining Farrell in the sci-fi thriller are Jessica Biel, Bryan Cranston, and Kate Beckinsale, with Beckinsale's hubby, Len Wiseman, directing. Read the interview

Off-screen couple Paul Dano and Zoe Kazan star as a frustrated writer and his creation in the dark romantic comedy, Ruby Sparks. Directed by the Little Miss Sunshine team of Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, Ruby Sparks is the feature film writing debut of Kazan who was inspired to write the screenplay after seeing a discarded mannequin in a trash can. 10 Films Based on or Inspired by Philip K Dick Stories
In honor of this week's release of a new version of Total Recall, contributing writer Beth Accomando has put together a Top 10 list of the best movies based on Philip K. Dick's stories as well as films which seem to be inspired by his work. Topping the list is Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, which is pretty much an obvious choice.
