March 1, 2013
Award season is over – phew – finally! But, not to worry, there’s still plenty of style action going on. Here are a five few fun things to check out this month.
“DWTS” IS BACK
Sequins! Feathers! Spray Tans! Guilty pleasure TV returns with Season 16 of ABC’s “Dancing With The Stars,” kicking off Monday March 18th.
“MAD” FOR MAKEUP
Estee Lauder introduces its second limited-edition makeup collection inspired by AMC’s “Mad Men.” There’s blush, lipstick and nail polish inspired by the late 1960’s looks portrayed on the show. Even the packaging gets a retro-fabulous look direct from the Estee Lauder Archives. The collection launches this month in anticipation for the April 7th premiere of Season Six of the show.
“TIFFANY’S” AT TARGET
The affordable chain has teamed up with the Broadway show of Truman Capote’s “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” for a collection of beauty and hair products to help you get Holly Golightly’s signature chic look!
DESIGNER COLLABS
Nigerian-born designer Duro Olowu, known for his bold prints, is coming to jcp for a limited-edition collection. Prices range from $10-$90. And just in time for prom season, Pearl by Georgina Chapman of Marchesa also launches today at jcp. There are about 40 items in the collection, including cocktail and evening dresses, all under $250.
STYLE ON THE DIAL
Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie and the “Fashion Star” gang return for season 2 on NBC Friday March 8th and “The Rachel Zoe Project” and “It’s a Brad, Brad World” return to Bravo on March 6th, following by the debut of a new show, “Dukes of Melrose,” which is a docu-series about the famous Hollywood vintage boutique Decades (I have been shopping there for years!) and it’s charismatic owners, Cameron Silver and Christos Garkinos.
