Summer is officially here Friday — so why not — go for It! People StyleWatch shares all the summer trends to try:
Silky Shorts:
"This is a great alternative to skirts, and a fun way to dress up for summer," says Kate Dimmock, fashion director for People StyleWatch. "Look for prints and silky textures that dress them up — for a night out or even the office if you work in a creative environment."
Bronze Makeup:
Get a gorgeous glow — without hitting the sun. "Look for rich metallics like gold and bronze, mixed with neutrals like peach or pink, and add to eyes, cheeks or lips."
Flirty Hairstyles:
Try a fun hairstyle for a summer night out like an undone updo, or try a simple braid to pull some hair back, while leaving the rest of your hair smooth.
Cutout Dresses:
"This is a fun trend that we're seeing across the nation. Dresses that cut out to show just a touch of skin at the waist, on the back or neckline. It's a playful, flirty vibe that is perfect for summer."
Bright Nails!
"Vibrant shades are huge for summer and we're seeing this on nail colors too. Colors like turquoise, hot pink or chartreuse — really playful for the beach!"
Denim Cutoffs:
This long-standing staple of summer is such an old fave. Wear them in a way that suits your style —whether more polished with a dressier top, or relaxed with a loose t-shirt or boho chic with a tunic — find a style that suits you. Look for high or low-waisted options similar to the denim you wear every day!
