We all know Hollywood folks spend gobs of money to look good. They've got their team of thousand-dollar-a-day (or more) beauty experts and shelves of pricey products.
Now, a celeb favorite haircare line wants to get the beauty industry on board to be more eco-conscious.
The luxury brand, Davines, which is popular with stars like Emma Stone, Kate Beckinsale and Rose Byrne, dedicated Monday, October 7 as a day of sustainable beauty.
"By creating beauty sustainability, we encourage people to take care of themselves, of the environment in which they live & work, of the things," reveal the folks at Davines.
Davines salons nationwide and in Canada will offer haircuts or blow-outs free of charge, encouraging clients to make a minimum $15 donation. The sustainable day of beauty raised more than $60,000 in 2012 and hopes to raise $75,000 this year. All of the money earned from donations will be donated to The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation (FTPF). This year, proceeds will be allocated to a fruit tree planting project in the American Southwest, which will help out the American Indian communities.
Sounds like a win-win! Treat yourself to a luxury haircut for under $20 and give a little back to planet Earth.
